Sorry, been quite busy with preparing to put out an eBook on Japanese swords.
Haven for Avid Readers
A haven for those who read a lot, like I do. I read so much news that it's a waste not to point at what I've been reading somehow. This blog will track my daily reading habits, whether deep reading or skimming various stories - but I don't do political commentary. Welcome all.

BP Texas Refinery Had Huge Toxic Release Just Before Gulf Blowout

So this poison spewed forty days and forty nights?
I'm seeing blame here placed squarely on the heads of members of the national media, essentially saying, if the media had given a damn, this poison would have halted. I fail to see how that is any kind of tolerable excuse. This is the sort of thing you're expected to know because you're paying attention.

It's supposedly a referendum on the war against the cartels. What if the voters vote against it? What then?

The politics isn't the point. It's that a term one begins using as a result of political and social pressure is politically correct, and the term that was replaced by the new term, is not. To state otherwise, as this NY Times executive has, is to turn reality on its head.
By the way, I didn't stop reading news. I was still nursing a cold. Hard to post on all the important things I read when I have a lack of energy. I'll try to keep it up and at least put the important things here.

Looks like a pretty big deal. Some fundamental issues were left in no man's land for decades with plenty of people magically believing this or that version that suited their views. Now there's a proper precedent, even if it is 5-4. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
